FORT MOUNTAIN COMPANIES UPGRADE COMPUTER PROGRAMS

As promised we will continue to share information that we find interesting with our customers, suppliers and friends.

Recently we upgraded our office to include a computerized wood brokerage program to help with tracking and calculating timber harvest figures and stumpage payments. After careful consideration Jeff decided to work with Simply Computing International based in Bangor Maine. Simply Computing International has been working with the forest products industry since 1989 with Log Scaling, Wood Brokerage, and Sawmill computer programs. They offer a full line of data collecting and processing packages for any size operation and they will work with you to customize the program for your specific needs.

Barry Hodgkin, the owner and main programmer for SCI has spent several days with us explaining the in's and out's of the program. Another perk is that the program has been tailored to meet the specific needs of Fort Mountain Companies. Lee French and Barry Hodgkin discussing the wood brokerage program. If you are having a timber harvest in the near future you will see our new stumpage reports. Jeff also purchased a hand held scale device to help with the log scaling procedure. Now the scale slips will be easy to read and not damaged with rain, snow or wind. Our Allenstown yard inventory will be easier to manage on a daily basis. We are excited about this new upgrade in our office and hope that it will make us more efficient. If you are looking to upgrade your forestry management plan, please visit our website at www.nhforestry.com or call our office to speak with Patrick Kenney our forester. He is always happy to answer questions or to visit your woodlot for a consultation.
